The lakes in Monticolo/Montiggl and Caldaro/Kaltern are dream-destinations for water- and water sports fan. The big Monticolo/Montiggler lake is also a perfect retreat for relaxation, because it’s right there by the biotope that you find our hotel’s dream house for your day-jaunts you’re your family. This wonderful haven of quiet is only a ten-minute walk from our spa hotel and awaits you with an array of water sports opportunities ranging from rowboats to canoe and stand-up paddling.

Changing rooms, showersand toilet are available free of charge, for full comfort. Treat yourself and your families to the privilege of bathing in one of the cleanest lakes in Italy – the Monticolo/Montiggler lakes were awarded the “5 vele” by environmental organization Legambiente and the Touring Club Italia as the lake with the cleanest waters in the Country.

Rowboat & canoe in the Monticolo/Montiggler lake

Explore the two Monticolo/Montiggler lakes with our own rowing boats, which you can borrow for free as part of our inclusive services. At the big lake you find our yellow-blue rowboat, accommodating up to four people and a second rowboat for up to three people. To use the boats, just place your reservation at the reception of Gartenhotel Moser!

NEW: Upon request, we are happy to prepare a picnic basket for your romantic jaunts on the lake!    

Fishing & angling

Keen fishermen are in their element at Monticolo/Montiggl. Our large rowboat is available at the big lake for all fishers, bathers and nature lovers – free of charge. The lakes are home to pike, perch, tench, carp, and more.
In order to fish in the Monticolo/Montiggler lakes, you need to possess an Italian fishing license (available at the tourist office in Appiano/Eppan, validity is 10 years, ca. 39.00 euro) as well as a day pass, which you can get at the Gartenhotel Moser. At the Langmoos pond, above the hotel, you can fish without a fishing licence.
There is also a fishing school in Val Passiria/Passeier which offers several courses including throwing and angling courses, as well as guiding services in Val Passiria/Passeiertal (ca. 55 km  from our hotel).  Fishing equipment not supplied.

Rafting & Canyoning

With its charming streams and rivers, South Tyrol offers plenty of opportunities for action fans to paddle through its unique landscapes. Rafting tours come in all degrees of difficulty; some are also suitable for children.
