The South Tyrolean Wine Road – indulgence for wine connoisseurs

The right bouquet for your holiday in South Tyrol's south

The South Tyrolean Wine Road is a secret tip for wine lovers and gourmets. With its picturesque vineyards and idyllic scenery, it is the largest wine-growing region in South Tyrol, where roughly 55 % of the cultivated varieties are red wines.

Appiano/Eppan, Caldaro/Kaltern and Termeno/Tramin are also becoming more and more well-known with their white wines: Sanct Valentin, Puntay, Cornell, Gewürztraminer Nussbaumer, Terminum and Serenade are some of the outstanding white or sweet wines from the Oltradige/Überetsch region.

Almost the entire vineyard area can claim statutory protection provisions today and bears the mark D.O.C. or D.O.C.G. (Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita – in English: guaranteed and controlled origin mark).

Your hosts, the Moser family, have been working in farming for many years themselves and grow apples and grapes on the large plot of land around the Gartenhotel Moser. Set off on a journey of discovery along the South Tyrolean Wine Road and enjoy the variety and fantastic flavour of South Tyrolean wines!

We, the village farmers of Monticolo/Montiggl, almost exclusively produce white wines for the well-known wineries in Cornaiano/Girlan, Appiano/Eppan, Colterenzio/Schreckbichl and Caldaro/Kaltern due to the ideal location of our estates at almost 500 metres altitude.
